About
This PhD research seeks to identify and evaluate the relationships between leadership, motivation and service quality in a hospitality service context.
Specifically, multivariate statistical modelling (structural equation modelling) is being employed to:
(i) clarify the nature and role of leadership in contributing to hospitality service employees' work motivation; and
(ii) assess any subsequent influence of enhanced service staff motivation on the quality of service delivery.
The work contributes to hospitality studies by improving our understanding of a critical aspect of organisational management for the hospitality sector - that of customer-contact employee motivation.
Leadership studies can also gain from the research through an improved understanding of how leadership can contribution to work motivation – particularly in service settings.
